Max is taking a few steps here and there. He definitely prefers doing things all by himself, rather than walking with the Juppy, or holding onto my hands. He is also getting very proficient at cruising!
His PT thought he'd be walking by our next appointment (next month), but after reading a few blogs, I'm thinking maybe not quite - slow but steady progress. She also said that once he is walking, we'll probably not have the need to see her much, if at all, anymore. Since Max likes to do things his own way, he'll just need to gain the walking experience he needs and then he'll be able to figure out stairs, etc.

On a side note, my birthday flowers, at least the sunflower in the arrangement, are still looking quite nice.

This was after about a week. They got big and fat.

Meanwhile, the ladybugs started coming out of their morphing stage. They didn't spin cocoons, but shed their skin several times. Then hung on the top of their dome and morphed for a few days. Then they shed their skin one more time and came out as ladybugs. It took about 12 hours to get their spots and color. We feed them raisins.

After about a week, the butterflies began hatching out of their cocoons. We missed every single one. Once they were ready, they came out fast. You could tell they were getting ready when they turned dark, like the far right one. You knew it was going to be within an hour when they started turning light, like the bottom left one. But one trip to throw a load of laundry in or a distraction from the tv, etc, and another would be out.
This was one within minutes of hatching. It's wings are still curled a little.
The red fluid in the bottom and sides of the netting, is a fluid that flows through their wings to uncurl them and make them strong.

And since he is officially on his feet more, his PT recommend his first pair of orthotics/inserts - pollywogs - for a little more stability.
