Sunday Randoms
Piper decided she wanted to play volleyball awhile back. So we found a team for her to play on this summer. This fall, we did closer city rec team, which was nice because she knew a few kids from school.
Random cat pics - they are quite the duo.
And then he almost fell...
The cats helped me install a new garbage disposal...
Double headphones at school.
Because everyone likes to sleep with a ukulele balanced on their chest, right?
Some nights a train does the trick...
Kitty litter... Sand... Pretty much the same thing, right?

She's Painted!
I finally finished painting the glamper! Next up - polishing the Shasta emblems and name plates so they can go back on. And then when it cools off a bit, I'll get back to working on the inside, and maybe even someday get the fridge working ;)
More details on the glamper blog here :)

Camper to Glamper
So, I thought I posted last fall when we got the camper that I have dreams of turning into a glamper. But maybe I forgot. Here she is:
We call her Ellie (glampers have names).
I soon realized I was in way over my head. Sooo much hidden water damage. So I haven't gotten very far on the glamper part. But I've repaired a lot of crap. Still have a long way to go, but at least we got to take her to Bear Lake last weekend. And nobody died.
Anyway, I decided to start a separate blog to track the progress. It's https://camper2glamper.wordpress.com/
Recently updated if you want to see more :)
And a full tour (including video) before we started the reno here: https://camper2glamper.wordpress.com/2017/03/03/vintage-shasta-16sc-camper-tour/

3rd Annual Bear Lake Camping Trip
Well, I had a good 9 months to get the camper ready for our annual trip to Bear Lake. I slacked. But we took it anyway. It was more like a glorified tent this trip. Next year we should have working appliances and cute paint! But it was a good maiden voyage.
Piper insisted on a trip to Winco for supplies before we left ;)
I'll do another post on the glamper soon, but here she is... halfway to Bear Lake. I had to rewire the trailer lights (the part that plugs into the truck) three times on the way up. The wires were too short and pulled out every time I turned right! Ha. I hit up Ace Hardware and extended the wires before the drive home. Don't know why I didn't think of it on the way up. I think I was just too nervous about the whole thing. I was fearing that the tires would fly off or something on the highway ;)
Parked at the campsite!
Messy but bright!
Piper painted the cupboards before we left :)
I did a test patch of paint on the front - aqua and orange!
The water was really high this year.
On the way home we stopped in the Walmart parking lot in Evanston and had a little lunch in the camper.
DIY lunchables. Super fancy!
And Piper found this cute little souvenir at the gas station. It even has Shasta wings! (mine will too, eventually)
Such a fun trip. We look forward to it every year!!

Dream Night at the Zoooo
One of our favorite events every year is Dream Night at the Zoo. Chik-fil-a provides dinner, there is face painting and other fun stuff. It's for kiddos with special needs and their families.

In years past, Max has freaked out when we go near the carousel. But not this time!!! And he LOVED watching the train go by.
I asked him if he wanted to go on the train, and he said yes, which I wasn't really sure about, but we gave it a go! Success!! He was so excited!
So we went again!
*I think the liver support may be helping with sensory processing disorder - there is no way he would have gone on the train last year. And he would cry when we got too close to the carousel. So this makes me super happy! I've been giving him BioRay Liver Life for a few weeks now. He also seems more talkative, making more sounds, attempting more words.

Kiki the Kitten
Yep. We got a kitten. Despite the "no more pets" statement that I make at least once a week.
{it's a long story, but Steve promised Piper two hairless guinea pigs, so this was our compromise}
Grandma was looking to get a cat as well, so we got a brother/sister pair, and Grandma took the brother. And since they're already buddies, we can take them to each other's house when we go out of town, or if they need a play date. Cats need play dates, right?!?
This is Scooter.
This is Kiki.
The first play date, at Grandma's house ;)
It sort of turned into a napping date...
So far, the dog just wants to eat the cat. So they reside on different floors of the house. We're hoping they learn to get along sooner than later ;)
Max loves the cat, and has only grabbed it and tossed it aside once. {I think it startled him. We are not abusing the cat. Max is not allowed to be with the cat alone.}
Ironically, Piper's fish died the day we brought the cat home... so technically, we don't have 'more' pets; still just 3 - dog, hamster, cat.
