White Christmas and a Sign

These are actually from a couple of days after Christmas, but we did indeed have a white Christmas this year. Still editing Christmas pics... Christmas post soon!
Against my better judgement, I even let Max go out and play for a few minutes. He's had a cold, and he really doesn't have snow boots, but after Piper got bundled up and went out, he kept signing 'coat' and looking longingly out the window. How could I say no to his request. It's one of the first times he's actually asked for something!

He didn't love it. But he didn't hate it either.

Gingerbread Houses

From the moment Piper got out of school for Christmas break she asks "what fun thing are we doing now?!" every 10 minutes. We started with making gingerbread houses with the neighbors while Max was napping ;)

And quite frankly, besides Christmas itself, we haven't done much more than this ;)

Pre-Christmas School Gifts

The preschool Max goes to is in a Title 1 elementary school. So a local credit union takes them on as a charity for the holidays. They buy each kid in the school Christmas gifts. Even though the special ed kids aren't from this neighborhood, they are still included in the gift giving. Max came home from school last week with a HUGE bag of gifts. Seriously amazing to think that each kid in the school gets a bag of gifts like this.

First, a bag of gifts from his teachers... crayons, penguin straw cup, candy cane, etc.

Piper helped Max open the rest.

Matchbox car garage!

with an extra pack of cars!

10 in 1 activity box.

Jeans and shirt.

The matchbox car garage was a huge hit! He played with it all afternoon.

He also loves blocks (part of the activity box).

Of course, the best part is being able to dump it all out all over the floor!

and a video...

The Birthday/Christmas Party

Piper is slightly obsessed with her Elf on the Shelf, Jingles. When I asked her what kind of cake she wanted for her birthday this year, of course, she wanted an elf cake. Lame. But whatever.

We got together with my family over the weekend to celebrate her birthday. We met at Seven Peaks Fun Center and bowled, rock climbed, played mini golf, laser tag, and ate corn dogs. Fun fun.

Max got a snappy new haircut before we came. Poor kid, he hates those.

Then we went back to Grandma's for cake and ice cream.

She cleaned up on presents this year!

Then we switched gears and did our annual cousin Christmas ornament exchange. Max got a cute Mickey Mouse driving a car.

He loved it.
He loved it so much he promptly ate a wheel and two hands off of it ;)

This is his hiding spot behind the couch when my brother's are there...

We got my nephew, Gibson, a PS3 video game controller ornament - he LOVED it.
