Picnic at the Lake

We headed up to Silver Lake this weekend for a quick picnic. It was super crowded so we ate out of the back of the truck.

This was only the second time we let him walk instead of stroller. He loves it. And made it all the way around the lake with only one wet leg & shoe.

Another reason to keep this kid on a leash...

My Favorite Tree

Yeah. I have a favorite tree. It's up at Silver Lake. It always changes colors before the others. And it's close to the road so it's easy to photograph. And since Max is refusing to take a lot of naps that don't involve being strapped in a 5 point harness,  it's in a great spot to go for a 'nap' drive to see how the leaves are looking, take a few snapshots, and keep the kiddo sleeping in the car. Win win.

There still wasn't a ton of color up around the lake this week, but my tree was in full color!
It's right next to this sign, if you ever want to do a drive by ;)

I guess it's really a cluster of trees.

During tomorrow's nap, we'll be taking a new scenic drive in a canyon just to the south. I'm kind of excited. Happy fall leaf viewing everyone!

One More Cousin

We finally made it down to meet the newest cousin, Brigham. Welcome to the family!

Not Quite

I've been patiently waiting for the leaves to start changing color!
We drove up to Silver Lake two weeks ago to see if it was time, but it wasn't. (yes, I'm behind again on posts)

However, we saw FIVE moose! Just off the boardwalk - so cool.

Piper was actually terrified of them. I wanted her to stand in front of me so I could get a picture of her and the moose... this is what I got!

It was a beautiful afternoon.

The leaves on the drive up are changing. Maybe next week, will be prime :)
