First Broken Bone

Piper broke her arm Christmas Eve! She fell off the trapeze bar in the playroom. We had company coming for dinner, so I sent her to lay on the bed while we got dinner ready. We wrapped it in an ace bandage and called it good for the moment. After dinner it was still hurting, and I was pretty sure it was broken, but all the Instacare places were closed until the day after Christmas. She was terrified at the thought of going to see a doctor (she thought it would hurt more), so we didn't push it, figuring it wasn't worth a trip to the ER. We ended up at Walgreen's just getting a wrist brace. But after tripping and hurting it more Christmas day, we decided to find an Instacare a little further out. So we ended up in Park City for a soft cast.

This is the xray taken 6 days later, before getting the hard cast (so it looks weird because of the soft cast still on it).

And we finally got the hard cast today, just in time to start ice skating lessons next week!! Please don't break the other arm!

December Cell Phone Dump

New Seatbelt!!

So, my favorite escapee figured out how to escape out of his 5 pt harness. I attempted a few things to try and keep him in, but it was time for the next step. I've seen this EZ-On Vest online, and figured it would work. Only $150 ;) So times two for both cars, yeah, um $300. Ugh. And what if it didn't work?

So after posting to one of my special needs groups, a small miracle happened. A wonderful woman, Jerri, gifted us one! Her son refused to wear theirs, so she just gave it to us! It's a little big, but I think I can adjust it more. It's kind of a beast to get on - but heavenly once he's locked in. A little tender mercy from Above. Just what I needed this week :) SO grateful!

October Cell Phone Dump

Piper learned how to play Monopoly.

Piper ALWAYS wants to take Lola with us to Home Depot. So I finally let her. Once.

Yeah - guess who got in the laundry room again? Stinker can open the lock with a penny ;)

Halloween Parades

Look - Max isn't a fish this year. Four years in a row was enough ;) Clearance skeleton sweats hit the spot this year!

He finally decided walking in the parade wasn't so bad. Although he did sit down a few times to 'rest'. His teachers dressed as The Wiggles!

Who needs a parade when you can kick back at your desk with an iPad? ;)

Meanwhile, Piper dressed as her teacher, who, ironically, was dressed as a student ;) She made a sparkly name tag, and was sure to have all the proper items in her school bag, including candy!

Someday, I'll get caught up on the blog... for now, though, here's a random picture of Lola eating a flashlight, and Piper's toe after part of her nail was removed due to constant ingrown toenail issues.

SoJo 5k

Steve's business partner signed us up for a 5k today. So we showed up ;)

And even finished in under an hour. {barely}

Sunflower

Piper's class planted sunflower seeds in paper cups at the end of the school year. When they got a few inches tall, we planted them outside. One survived!
When it died, we harvested the seeds - there were hundreds. Next spring we'll plant a forest ;)
