Piper and I went to SF last weekend to see Taylor Swift in concert. (However, I'm going to do a separate post on the concert.) I got tickets as a bribe to get her to push thru her anxiety and make it to school, which has been challenging this year.
So off we went. Max and Steve were sick, so it was the perfect time to get out of the house. Ha.
(both of my big cameras are broken. So enjoy the picture overload of often blurry cell phone pics)
The view from our room. Not too shabby.
First stop. Pier 39 for dinner.
...and mini donuts.
...and sea lions.
Next adventure... the Japanese Tea Gardens. Yes we had tea, and matcha cheesecake. Yep, it was green ;) but tasty.
Then, to the top of Coit Tower. A first for me.
Killer view.
Then a ferry over to Alcatraz.
We got to meet a former prisoner. He was doing a book signing. That was pretty cool.
We walked over 20,000 steps the first day.
Super fun scooter rentals (like the green bike program many cities have). You use the app and gps to find where scooters have been dropped off and unlock them with your credit card via the app to use. $1 for 30 minutes. So fun to cruise around on. Technically, since they want you to ride in the street, not the sidewalk, you are suppose to be 18, wear a helmet, and have a valid drivers license. Um, Piper acts 18 sometimes... kind of...
China Town. Piper's favorite place to shop.
Beach Blanket Babylon at Club Fugazi. This was the last thing we did before heading back to the airport. So we had to leave our luggage in the car trunk. The valet who parked our car in the garage we used totally rifled thru our stuff leaving clothes all over the trunk! What a loser! We didn't find that anything was stolen. Guess he didn't want our dirty socks ;)
Sourdough from Boudin's. Soooo good.
And bonus that they make fun shapes that you can bring home. Isn't this turtle adorable?!
