So, we decided to scrap the plans (that yes, we paid for) to do a second story addition to the house. Instead, we are just going to update what we have, taking one project at a time. We started with living room floors and plumbing. Steve doesn't really do power tools, so my mom came over and helped me install the new floors. A month ago. I
finally got the molding put back on this week! But the drywall repair in the basement from the plumbing is still ongoing. But oh how nice it is to take a hot shower with killer water pressure. And I haven't needed the plunger once since the new toilet was installed. Piper was in the bath a few days after the plumbing and asked if this was how the water was suppose to sound. She had never taken a bath that was being filled with a faucet with actual water pressure - poor kiddo. Max can't figure out why we turn off the faucet after 5 minutes - he's used to having the water on the whole 30 minute bath (and the bath still wasn't full). Gotta love living in a house built in 1927 ;)
Not the smartest idea to let the planks acclimate in a room that Max had access too. Two full boxes ended up with dented corners. Oops.
Then, I worked on the bathroom a bit more. The plumbers installed a new toilet and vanity. The floors I stained started to peel due to my lack of proper prep before staining...
So I leveled out the deep grout troughs and laid new vinyl tile and grouted it.
Then for a new backsplash... with mirrors so Max can see himself since he's too short to see in the big mirror.
And last, but not least, stripes. Thank you
frog tape.
